First, I think your post might get pulled, this should have been listed in the classifieds. If you're looking for a good value on the truck you would be able to tell by how fast it sells. In a day probably too low. Not getting any nibbles at all, too high.

Second, why not take a couple of hours and get the truck running. It'll sell a lot easier if a potential buyer can hear that it starts and runs. You'll also get more for it.

I can never under stand why, if the truck has run in the recent past, the sellers never just takes some time and make sure the vehicle runs. These are simple engines and they don't usually take much to get them running even if they've been sitting years as long as they aren't froze up. To me the term, "Ran when parked" means " or "Last ran X years ago" means "I tried to start it and it makes some strange noises." Or "Is stuck". That's just my opinion.

Bob's correct on this might get pulled and getting that engine started. That will make a huge difference.

The larger trucks are harder to sell.

This truck is in the classifieds at:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ump-truck.html
Now, I had to search on the text in this post to actually find it.
We have a link to the marketplace at the top of our forum for 48-60 trucks and parts. Well going there doesn't find this add. That really annoys me.

I tried various ways to search for it and couldn't find it.
You might try advertising somewhere besides FTE, no one will find it in our classifieds, or I'm doing something stupid.....

I've put stuff in the classifieds here and couldn't find my own ad. The search on Classifieds is worthless. If they are going to make us use it, at least they should provide a decent interface

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html

Thanks for all the useful info. I did drop a battery into the old girl and with alittle priming and coaxing she fired up. Earlier this year I pulled the plugs and coated the cyl. with a few drops of Marvels. turned the motor over with a strong arm bar. Seemed fine. The carb probably needs some cleaning out at a minimum, there's a bog.
I figured that the post will get pulled for looking like a sale add. I just really wanted the pro opinion on a fair sales price, and your right, tough to find adds on the classifieds.
Thanks for the info on posting pics too. I'll give it a go! You guys have been alot of help!

I really like your truck. I wish ya was on the West Coast, or at least as far west as Colorado.
