Hi Alan
Yep I am still lurking around here. NO issue on the Ford wrecker. It will be here for you. I would plan on a day or more to get it road ready but I will get it started before gets too cold and see if anything has gone wrong setting, I don't know if it would haul on your trailer or not. That would be the safest way to get it home and fool with it there.
Larry

Saw this on Spacebook & HAD TO laugh. As a school bus driver, I have NO sympathy whatsoever for the broad. Says she was doing that EVERY DAY!!!

I doubt it. Technically, I'm still employed by USPS, but working one day a week just won't feed the family.

Kind of hard to explain, but I'm in a warehouse all day with various responsibilities.... I'm going back today, so that's a good sign, right?

Good morning boys and girls.

Good Morning Everybody!

Gonna try and get this trailer painted today.

Larry, my trailer definitely will NOT handle the wrecker. I think my best bet will be to drive it home. As long as it starts, I think it'll make it. Even if I loose the brakes on the way home, it'll still be easier than trying to load it on a trailer that's way to narrow. Also, the wrecker is pretty dang heavy for the trailer. ....I'll just have Tiff follow me to pick up the pieces that fall off!

I've about had it with towing a trailer around. The wrecker will do for a while, then I'll be hunting a rollback. I'm gonna keep the wrecker, though. A portable winch/boom truck comes in awful handy sometimes. Besides, how cool would it be to have a dentside wrecker!

I agree it would be too cool and way handy. Is it by any chance a one ton dually wrecker? That would be even cooler.

Yes. Standard one ton dually with a twin boom wrecker bed. It's a grey color now. I'm thinkin' black with true flames and my logo on the door.

I got the car trailer sanded down and shot today. It took me longer than I planned, so I hope the weather holds out until it flashes. It's tacky now, so I should be ok. ....I hope.

Ha! I finally got back on the internet! I really need to get rid of this satellite internet - it stinks.

Chip - I replied to your PM about carpooling - it sounds good to me.

I forgot who asked about 4.56s - but I'm chiming in anywho. I had 4.56s in my '03 Ram, but I also had a steep overdrive. It was a blast to drive unloaded, but keeping things cool when under load was near impossible. You need higher gears - but you already know that.

RC - I'm looking forward to hanging out with you again. Maybe the weather will play nice and I can lend you hand around there. I might have one of my boys with me - my grease monkey daughter has a birthday party she's going to... at the mall... in Springfield. Thanks to the powers that be that I don't have chaperon that one.

that was me that asked about the gearing but i got it all figured out now, and i also found out where most of my mpg went to today, i started the truck and poped the hood to jump start the old 89 and i noticed it was smoking some under the hood and after i got to looking harder and started it a few times i found out that i have a hole in my egr pipe so hopefully a new 1 of those and a set of plugs and wires and i should be back up to around 12-14 mpg woohoo haha

Good Morning Everybody!

Got some running around to do today. I also need to put the trailer back together. Maybe some more steel work on the Bel Air. I'm just gonna see where the day leads me.
