Post 1979 f-150 diesel swap

Hey guys, new to the gang. But I have owned diesels for quite some time. Had 7.3 idi, 7.3 powerstroke, 6.0 powerstroke. My father has finally passed down his 1979 ford to me!!! and im thinking off dropping 350 springs, and a diesel motor into it, so i can have the diesel power, and old school look and still get better mps then the new ones! Im debating between a 5.9 24v cummins or a obs 7.3 powerstroke. I love the 7.3, but the cummins seems to get power easy, cheap and more reliable from what i heard. Id ask the guys on the cummins forum but they probably reject that idea of a cummins into a ford..
I want something that gets decent mpg 15-18 city like my old 7.3 did but yet i can pull a 5th wheel camper with no problem. My 7.3 pulled it ok but my fathers 5.9 smokes it. (eventually i would want to get into pulling) This truck was restored once before and it will be once more!! Any help is great thanks guys in advance for the help.

Will a half-ton frame handle a fifth wheel trailer very well?

lets not derail the thread please.

the 7.3 powerstroke with the 350 springs will make it a really sweet truck.
please don't put a cummins in it, that is like taking a model "A" and putting a 350 chevy in it. just because everyone else is doing it does not make it rite.
