Hay guys I have a 1997 f250 with the 7.3 liter diesel engine. It is a 4x4 and I need to replace the entire front end. I bought the truck two years ago and have slowly been working on it 'project truck'. I took it to the shop last week to get the ball joints replaced on it and they informed me that I had a lot more going on than the ball joints. After their quote of 4100.00 I figured it would be easier and cheaper to find a good new complete Dana 50 IFS and replace the whole thing. What do you think and does anyone have a lead on one. I am in San Diego California.

I have a 1997 F250 and if I were going to replace the front axle, I would install a Dana 60 solid axle as opposed to the Dana 50 TTB axle. Here is an example from eBay.

t 50IFS in the scrap pile and buy the dana 60 front end from the F350's. All you need is the axle and the tract bar setup and it all bolts in 100%! I had a 1997 F250 heavy dut and when i first bought it i had to install new ball joints and the centerpin bushings, then three years later the center bushings went out again so i swaped in the Dana60 and the guy i sold it too is still rocking the 60
