How does the hubcaps come off the front drums? Do you pry or try to unscrew them, I've tried both ways and got no where, I don't want to damage them.

Thinking they unscrew. Maybe slight heat, and an old leather belt wraped around to protect. My 37 has beautiful stainless ones and my 47 has plain steel. I'll need to find this also as I do brakes on the 47 next week. I just can't remember.....

Yea, I'll try with a piece of leather wrapped around it, don't want to damage original SS
I also have a 55 ford f350 9' express, almost done, doing brakes today. Might be looking to sell if you know of anyone...

We have similar taste in trucks. My Grandmother was from South Berwick. I'll be starting front brakes this weekend so one of us should know soon.

Yes, they unscrew. My dad and I have taken some of these off of a 1936 1 1/2 ton. It is a bit tricky to do without damaging them. I think my dad wrapped a rag around them and used a channellock, but ours were not in very good shape to begin with, so the leather belt might be a better approach.
