Question Horn and Cruise Controls not working on Steering Wheel - 2005 F250 XLT Lariat

2005 F250 4x4 XLT Lariat 6.0

Every now and then the horn on my F250 would not work. Maybe for a day or two then next thing I notice, it's working again. Well, it's been over a week and it's still not working along with controls on the steering wheel such as Cruise Control and radio controls volume, etc.

Batteries are good, even disconnected terminals and reset. Checked all the fuses especially 37 for the Horn but fuse looks good. Check several other fuses and they as well look good.

Is there any other things, locations I should be checking to get this horn working?

P.S. I tried honking at a dog right in front of me but no matter how hard I pressed, damn horn wouldn't go off. No worries, I slowed down in time.

I was going with the clock spring also. Just replaced mine, but the srs light was on and horn inop. From what the Ford guys said it happens a lot.

It sounds like a classic clock spring issue.

I have the same issue, but mine came after installing a new head unit. The steering wheel seems to have no power. The buttons don't illuminate as they did prior, and cc nor temp and fan controls work. Not sure if I unplugged or shorted a wire on accident, but no wiring diagram to find out.

Sounds like CLock spring.

Mine went when I was in a parking lot making a tight turn. The horn turned on and stayed on for about 5 seconds then turned off. I realized that I no longer had a horn and my cruise control no longer worked.

The clockspring was frayed When it died it shorted out my horn blowing the fuse and taking out my low (basse) horn with it. The high horn still worked.

I finally replaced the clock spring yesterday and Cruise control works but I did have to replace one of the actual horns in the passenger's front fender well.

The problem I have now is the door chime that alerts you that your keys are still in the ignition is chiming any time the door is open. It think I installed the clockspring keyswitch sensor incorrectly.

My cruise control just quit working on my E99 F-350. When I push the "on" button the horn sounds. I'm thinking it's the clock spring. I do not have any dash lights indicating that anything is wrong.
