i Have a 76 f-150 single cab long bed, and its been a great truck but.....
I have this crazy idea, and i wanted some other input on if it might work
i've read that from 73-96 all f series trucks have the same wheel base as long as the body type is the same. So i was thinking, make a 1976 F-150 powerstroke?
take my 76 body and put it on a 96 powerstroke....
obviously there are gonna be some hang ups, but does anyone know why it wouldn't work?

Ive wanted to do the same thing but with the 80-86 body style. If you happen to persue this project make sure you post a build thread!

Not even close the engines are set back,The cab mounts are wrong,The frames are wider etc....

Put the motor in the truck not the truck on the motor.

And theres a hell of alot of wiring on a Power stroke look how much a set of injectors cost then make your decision wisely.

My thought on the psd is I have 99 psd with 326,000 miles and its been great... I pull a lot of trailes and would like to drive the 76 more...
Plus how often is it that u see a psd 76 f-150 vs how often u see a "hot rod" 76 f150...ie 351, or 390, bored over, etc.....
Plus if I can put it on a 1 ton chassis then I raise the payload

Read this once. Stop and think about it and then read it again.

Fabbing up some new mounts for the cab would be the easy part. Rewiring a truck is what would make me rethink it
