key on power at fuse box?

I'm hooking up a watchdog and it says to hook up power to fuse box. Can someone tell me how to do that? there's a big one under the hood and a smaller one on the dash, by my left knee. I can see the back of it, but can't get to it. I loosened the 2 screws holding it on, but it barely moves(the fuse box).

Tap into one of the switched circuits (radio is a good one) in the indoor fuse panel using one of these:

Here is a link. Advance Auto, Auto Zone, etc sell them. Just tell them you want a fuse tap.

Thanks, I figured there was an easier way. I appreciate it! I can't wait to get this thing hooked up.

What is this watchdog thing you speak of? I hate to tell you that if it is designed to work with an OBDII connector I don't give it a lot of hope on this truck. The connector you're looking for us right below the steering wheel, but these trucks aren't really OBDII compliant. That's why it usually takes a good scanner to pull codes and data from the PCM. Don't get me wrong, I hope it works, but I am not too hopeful.

I think you're right, it won't read. It's supposed to monitor speed, rpm, fuel mileage, egt(with a sensor), load, boost, timing and a bunch of other info. Looks like my shortcut isn't going to work, time to get some real gauges. Thanks for your help though

You should look into an Aeroforce Scangauge. It does pretty much what you're describing and will pull trouble codes, run diagnostic checks, etc and it works well on our PSD's.
