We had a nice weekend. It is snowing this morning and we are to get snow tonight thru Tues night, so I am glad I got the truck out.

Not having the truck here any longer just makes a quick little ride a big deal. I really miss just not being able to routinely check anything and not having my whole tool selection available when I i go out to where it is stored

View from my office: Ethyl *THE* Tool Truck Cruises CA 101 @ Cardiff State Beach.
View From my office...Ethyl *THE* Tool Truck cruises CA 101 at Cardiff.....heading south towards home....after work...Another choice to go home would be taking Interstate 5 as it is just east of the 101 but it is jammed up with traffic 5pmish....The 5 also has a limited view of the beach and one will never see any females in bikini walking on the interstate....which route would YOU take????

Driving the beach route in Ethyl is an excellent choice. To quote Alexander MacLaren, “The longest way round is the shortest way home."

Tank instal and a good driver

I had a transfer tank installed and had not given any thought to the camera rolling while the installer drove the truck away for the instal but interesting. I am happy to say he drove very carefully and honked the horn at blind corner where someone may have been. Very happy with the care taken during the short drive to the instal bay. And I love having the extra 50 gallons of fuel for the long trips.

I tried a picture of the road our cabin is on, but it focused on the bugs on the windshield.

Last picture is just off the crest of white deer mountain on PA 44.

I was out in Cincinatti this weekend to race. The truck wasn’t running right before I went out, so I didn’t do well.

Good stuff!

I went to Monte Vista, CO for the Hot Rod Dirt Drags a couple of weeks ago. Here are some pics on the way home.
Heading south across the Taos Plateau on Highway 285. It was about a 500 mile round trip, a day full of all out thrashing on a dirt drag strip, towing my buddy back to the hotel, and still I managed just under 18 MPG.

Thanks for reviving this great thread so I didn't have to search for it!

Here are pictures from my trip to Ford Carlisle on May 31 and June 1. Bobby you got great gas mileage! Me? Not so good. It was 108 miles one way but I had to climb 4 mountains in our ridge and valley topography of central PA. It took my F350 2.5 hours to get there fully loaded.

The trip there:

The way home

Here's my set up at Carlisle.

Nice Abe
gorgeous country!
Not too many passes to cross on this trip. Started out in Rio Rancho, NM at an altitude of about 1 mile high and ended up in Monte Vista, Co which is just over 7600'. Basically the route we took was just a long steady climb on the way up.
The 2.75:1 rear gear ratio and the good low end torque of the big Caddy engine make a great MPG driver. Couple all of that with the 30+ gallon tank and I can drive for what feels like ever....lol

Bobby
