84 Factory radio wire colors/diagram needed

I bought a used radio from one of the forum members - it is a 1984 Ford AM/FM Cassette (E4AF-191198-AA). I want to install it in my 1982 F250 (which orginally had an AM/FM Cassette player, but is long gone). I need some help with the wiring.

The wiring diagram for my 82 truck is different than the 1984 model (the connectors are different too). I ordered a connector kit for the 84 radio.

The 84 radio has three "power leads", Orange (O), Yellow with Black hash (Y/BK), and Light Blue with Red stripe (LB/R). (Note my Red could be someone else's Violet, etc.)

My 82 (EDIT - turns out this diagram is for my 1990 truck) wiring diagram shows four wires, HOT (always on) is LG/Y, HOT (in ACC/RUN) is Y/BK, Hot (with Lights on) is O/BK, and Lights On (Dimmer control) is LB/R. I'm not sure if I have found the right connector behind the dash (last radio was aftermarket and wired to fuse box) but the closest thing behind the dash near radio is a four wire connetor with two wires in it (O/BK, and LB/R). Still looking around back there.

Can anyone assist? I'll do some testing with my test light and see what is what. Also, the factory connector is long gone for the speakers. So if you have anything on the color coding for the 84 radio, I would like to see it. But I think I have figured out.

Thanks

The plastic connectors for the 1982 is the same 1982 to at least the mid-90's.

The radio should be plug and play. If the harness on the 1982 hasn't been molested.

1981 and older trucks have rubber connectors.

The wiring colors have not changed since the 70's.

Circut #54: Light Green/Yellow stripe: Hot in all modes: radio memory. (only used for electronic radio)

Circut #137: Yellow/Black hash: Hot in run or accessory mode. (Radio power)

Circut #19: Light Blue/Red stripe: Radio Dial Ilumination

Circut #804: Orange/Light Green Hash: Left front speaker
Circut #805: White/Light Green Hash: Right Front Speaker
Circut #806: Pink/Light Blue Stripe: Right Rear Speaker (loops and connects to right front speaker wire on pickups)
Circut #807: Pink/Light Green Stripe: Left Rear Speaker (loops and connects to Left front speaker wire on pickups
Circut #287: Black/White Hash Speaker Ground

The orange wire is for the power antenna on certain equipped cars. Not used with the pickups.

I recommend that you get another speaker harness out of a donor truck, if you can find one that hasn't been hacked up. It is possible, but getting harder to find.

Boy do I feel stupid. After viewing your diagram I went back to see why mine was different and realized I had my 1990 truck wiring diagrams out and not the 82 diagrams.

Yes. It came in the other day. It's in very good condtion, but as you can tell I have not hooked it up yet. I know I bought it as is - so if it doesn't work no problem, no complaint.
At least right now it looks good and fits like a glove in my truck. Whereas my current radio doesn't work and doesn't look so good either.
BTW - any chance you still have the ***** around somewhere?

No problem - if you have them I'll cover the mailing costs. If not, I'll find something that will work.
