HPOP rebuild, did i miss and thing?

well guys i finally got tired of all the oil leaking on my parking spot.
my hpop has been leaking for a few years, not to bad but it bugs me.
i made a 200 mile round trip a few weeks ago, at one point i had to go arround a diesel towing a trailerhouse, when i did i could smell burning oil bad.
once i stopped i saw my hpop had leaked , it only gets bad when i really get down on it running fast.
at nornal speed it only leakes a small amount.
im afraid ill get away from the house and one of the o rings will give up.
so i called clay and ordered a new plug for the non servicable pulg,
the gasket for the hpop and a 7 o ring repair kit.
a friend of mine at work runs a small shop at his house,
he just replaced my ball joints a few months ago.
this is a guy i trust to work on my truck, he has always drove ford diesels.
he can get to my truck in a few weeks and gave me a price of $ 180 to pull the hpop and replace the items i ordered.
at $ 60 an hour for 3 hours work.
does the price sound good?
my main question is do i need to replace anything else while im that far in.
thanks for all the past help, i honestly dont know what id do if i had not found you guys here.
there is no end to the money iv saved with all your help.

Yup, just made the same list for a buddy of mine, and shot the link to him..(R.R.). With his truck having 180k, i also included the d/s / p/s hpop lines. Seems to be the norm, anything after 150k, they can go. Also, i included the hpop tool.

Price doesnt seem bad, but if you can turn a wrench, you can save that $$$. Probably need a couple qts of oil, since removing it, you'll want to drain the pump.

just checked the mail box, all the parts came in from clay.
iv been beating my self up over not doing the work myself.
but after 3 back surgeries bending over in my truck is hard on me.
its got 4 inch lift and 35 inch tires, im about 5' 9'' sooooo
it just dont add up
im good for about 30min working on it.
iv got 3 vertebra gone in the lower back with rods and screws holding it all together.
but all in all im happy with the shape im in, i can weld all day, do about everything my boss ask, and go home with only minor pain.
but i thank god every day for letting me be able to support my wife and boys.

thats all the family ask, right Don.. It what makes it "all about".

160 buks to save the agony...i'd pay for it too. These trucks are knarly to work atop, with any lift...but sure is nice, when oil changes, coolant flushes..etc, come into play.

Two things:

1.) Topside creeper, indispensable!:

Traxion Foldable Topside Creeper — Model# 1-00020 | Creepers| Northern Tool + Equipment

2.) Test fit the non-serviceable plug without the o-ring, prior to installation. Make sure it fully bottoms out:

iv been following your troubles with your rebuild.
i was thinking of test fitting the plug without the oring to see how far it makes up.
i looked last night and dont know for sure if my leak is the plug or the hpop gasket . but im going to change all the orings and plug while i have it apart.

Thats a great price IMO, the dealers would be substancially higher even with your own parts. Get R done..

lol dont i know. like they say, sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying
my old truck has been running good, acting ok , when i get this oil leak fixed ill be happy with everything to the point that the wife and i have been tanking about letting my work car go.
iv been driving a hyundai accent to work for the last 4 years.
nothing against the little car, it gets 34-36 mpg.
but its like riding in a beer can, if someone hits me , its over.
i can almost feel the way other drivers treat me when im driving the car vs my truck.
or maybe its just the way i feel driving one or the other.
any way iv been thinking of selling the car and just use the truck as my DD.
i swap rides with a buddy of mine, and we talked about each of us driving a week at a
time.
im not looking forward to putting more miles on my truck, its about 100 mile round trip to work and back.
but im tired of the car. and really like driving the truck
