All systems are working normally, accept my overhead display which is stuck on 12.6mpg, and my battery and alternator voltage check out fine.
So what is causing a relay to be chattering under the dash. Any ideas which one it might be? If not, any advise on how to tell which one it would be so I can try to replace?
Low battery voltage is my first suspect. You might try connecting up a meter in the cab and watching the voltage at first key on and also when cranking.
Thanks for the input guys. So "engine-off" battery voltage checked out at arount 12.7 and running at about 14.3. So, while I was installing the Wix 6637 filter, I took the opportunity to clean and tighten all the battery terminals, they were quite dirty and coated with the white/green corrosion, and seemed a little loose. After reconnecting the terminals and all attached wires, I sprayed with Staybright to minimize any future build up. Guess what, no more relay chattering.
