Just picked up a set of headers for my '95 460

Found a set of Hedman full size headers for a 460. Came off a 90 460 efi 4x4. Got them for $100. Number on them reads 89200. Summit says they won't fit? All the headers I've seen online are the same for 88-96 460's. Obviously there's only one way for me to really find out if I can make them work, but I'm just looking for some insight here.

My Hedman 89340 are not supposed to fit auto trans or swap motor mounts yet they worked on my 88 f250 4x4 with auto and swap mounts.Try the ones you have. You might have to raise the engine to get them in,but thats not uncommon with header swaps.I had to notch the pass side frame(1/2 in x 2in) to get mine to fit. That was the only mod.Drivers side fit perfect and clears linkage for trans.Good luck.

Here is a pic of the notch I made. Its small and in between the two extended parts of the frame.Just needed that little space to slide the header up.

Yeah I figured it they aren't going to clear, it'll be on the passenger side. Those pictures are encouraging though. I think I'll be able to make it work if that's the case. If the starter doesn't clear though I may have to make a "precise indentation" on the header to clear it. Will post pics when I get to this too because for 200 bucks new, these might make a nice cheap exhaust upgrade for anyone with a similar truck.

You might have to change starters.I use the old style with fender mounted solenoid.I believe '95 uses the chevy style with the solenoid on the starter. If that's the case it may cause clearance problems.Mine is a very tight fit to the starter and I ended up wrapping it in header wrap to help it from overheating. It's a cheapo reman'd starter.A mini adustable starter will work though.
