I have a 2003 F-150 xlt 4.2 V6 2wd and have a smashed up bumper cover. Its a stock bumper cover (Valence) from the 99-03 series and I was wondering if I could get a 4wd bumper cover with tow hooks put in from the same make year and model from stock. I dont know if they are interchangeable because I go mudding with the truck and I do need tow hooks but I would really like the 4x4 bumper with it. I would like the 4wd bumper at any cost and would I be able to just go to the dealership and ask for a 4wd bumper with tow hooks on my truck. Would I be able to change to a stock 4wd or are the holes not going to be aligned or if there is something I could do.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable will be by too, but I think the frame widths are different. I had a 2002 4wd and bought a reese from craigslist for a 2wd site unseen. The 2wd hitch was a couple inches narrower, so I bet it wouldn't mount up

 

It sounds to me like you are refering to the lower valence under the front bumper right?

I have a 99 F150 2wd and I have put the valence from a 4wd (ebay) on it with hooks and fog light holes, Everything matched up, Only thing is i had to have holes drilled in the frame for the hooks if I wanted them. Fog lights I just had to go to my local ace hardware for some nuts, bolts, & washers to mount the depo clears (also from ebay).
