Welcome to FTE!

F60 = F600 gas, 4x2

D = 330 2V HD "XD" FT gas V8. (I see in your other post it has been replaced by a 361.)

V = Kentucky Truck Plant

BJ1336 = 1978 numerical series, March 1978 production

182 = 182 inch wheelbase

H = Dark Brown Metallic (H = White in the prior 3 model years as unless yours is repainted, it doesn't look Dark Brown Metallic....)

F607 = F600 gas, 4x2, 19,700 lbs GVWR. (This code is shown for model year 1979 only in the MPC, and is not shown in the shop manual--at least the copies I am looking at. Your serial number puts your truck firmly in the 1978 production run, so perhaps a small mystery. Typos and errors are always possible on the warranty plate, and again in the MPC/shop manuals. The copyright on the MPC copy is 1980, none on the shop manual, so things should have been sorted out in the MPC at least)

ER8
ER = I do not have upholstery info for this one
8 = Custom Cab

3A
3 = Auxiliary Transmission Code, which is Dana (Spicer) model 7231-D three speed aux. transmission. I doubt your truck has an aux. transmission....??? Another mystery perhaps. Sometimes this code was used to indicate emissions equipment or other "oddball" items. No indication of that in either the MPC or shop manual.

A = New Process model 435 four speed transmission

F3M
F3 = Eaton model 15201 two speed rear axle, 15,000 lbs capacity, 6.33 / 8.81 ratios
M = Ford 7,000 lbs capacity front axle with power steering

19700 = 19,700 lbs GVWR

74 = Seattle District Sales Office

No special order--bought from dealer inventory.

Decode completed.

Does it run? Does it have a dump bed? These can be very handy if you have the room to keep one .....

it does run, I just rebuilt and installed a 361. it does have a dump bed. it used to be one of the grain trucks on the farm. and, fortunately, we do have room to store it. I drove it today for the first time in 2 1/2 years. looks like I now get to work on the brakes, lol.

wheels 1978 F600

I would like to update this truck to wheels that are single piece. anyone have any info on what i can use? I would like to get to a tire size that is a little easier to come by than the 8.25x20s I now have. I am not super concerned about changing ride height or final ratio.

yes, rear has budd nuts and lug nuts. Picture of front wheel/tire. rear are same style. they are not the "widowmaker" style people talk about on here, but they are split rims with the locking ring.

AFAIK the 22.5 wheels with this bolt pattern are out of production, based on comments made here by others more familiar with searching out wheels.

I have seen them on walk in delivery vans from various makers, probably late 1990s production.

But they are listed here:

https://buytruckwheels.com/products/...s-20-tube-type

https://a1truckwheels.com/product/22566wb/

Otherwise you'll have to search for used wheels.

Check this thread:
