well i have done alot of what i wanted to do but i still have alot planned. but even stock the excursion just makes me happy and puts a smile on my face!

4:56 gears

Detroit tru-trac in the rear

cowl induction hood

LED taillights

08-up mirrors painted to match

more side/rear AUX lighting but as hidden as possible

chrome step bars off a newer stuper duty

factory 6 disk in dash cd player

wood grain steering wheel

some custom paint work and shaved emblems

new headlights/corner lights

new fog lights

more interior LEDs

and MAYBE add a boss snow plow mount and wiring so i can use the excursion as a backup plow truck in case something happens to my f-250 during a storm.

  • 08-10 front end conversion
  • Newer style super duty wheels (can't lift the height of the Ex or it won't fit in the garage!)
  • 08 mirrors
  • Sub in the barn door
  • LED interior lights
  • Gauges and some mild performance upgrades
  • Tint the front windows so they match the back ones
  • Repaint
Lots of work to do...

The future? You guys need to see farther into the future.

Me? I', gonna drive it until the axles rust off and then strap stone wheels to it and ride it like Fred Flintstone.

After all, that's all I'll be able to afford after the government takes everything else.

oh, OK. the short term plans then.

in December:

Doug Thorley Headers, leather upholstry, finish up my dash mod. (no I never got all the wiring done. Ran out of money. sigh.)

Aside from that, I've done everything else I wanted for this beast!

I have owned my 2000 7.3 X less then a month... so far I have repaired 2 door lock solenoids, serviced the AC, and bought a new 4" Diamond Eye Performance turbo back exhaust kit w/ muffler.(250 shipped from Ebay)

The future mod list:
Get floor mats
Fix rear springs, (since who ever lifted it put the add a leaf in the wrong spot on the spring pack.)
replace up pipe gaskets
install new exhaust.
TS chip and gauges
replace front sway bar end links
grease slip joints front and rear
replace cracked drivers and passenger back seat leather.
replace back up sensors
replace damaged running board light sockets
replace shifter end cap ( it was missing when I bought it)
07' facelift.
swap out damaged interior panels. (I found a donor already, it is about to go back to the bank)
install a sub-woofer.
mount deck and dvd player correctly

Ya there is lots to do... then after it is done, I might give it a coat of paint and then DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF IT, replace them and REPEAT!

If all the mods don't get the mileage up some I might even drop it back down to stock to see if it will help. It was only getting 13.5 on the highway and 11.5 in town with the lift and 35's, though the speedo was off by 5MPH, and i just got that adjusted yesterday, so I don't know how much of a difference that will make on MPG.

I don't plan on EVER selling this vehicle. If the motor ever goes I would love to do a Cummins swap in it.

i need a viper security remote start and gps tracker (yes im paranoid my coworkers car got stolen from park n fly) and because my current system does not work at all, alarm wont trigger for anything and remote start failed.
figure out how to hook my dvd to my new deck
steering box replacement
air bag suspension lift
powermax turbo
08+ mirrors
f650 dash and switches
buckstop front bumper with warn winch/air compressor fix my own flats and pull myself out! how awesome is that!
custom roof rack with led lights for offroad/ nighttime extreme visibility
rear backup camera and led tail lights/ better reverse lights
led interior lights

all the while loving every second in my "land yacht" cranking the tunes and showing rice rockets what true power is!

I thought about putting remote start on my X, but in order to do that you have to disable the PATS key system. I figure anything that helps slow them down from just starting it and going is better then nothing. I will put an alarm on mine with 2 way. Yes it would be nice to have it cooling off in the parking lot for you, but for me it is not worth the risk.

Buckstops are great!!! Two weeks ago, a young lady on a cellphone gunned it backing out of a parking spot as I was going through the parking lot. I stopped, but she still rammed right into me oblivious to this wall of steel behind her. She hit the bumper, and tore up her back hatch, blew out the rear pillar, rear window, side window, and rear passenger door. Crumpled like cheese.

She elected to have it towed.

I buffed out the paint scratches and put on some touch up when I got home.
