71 F-100 Sport Custom Shortbed
390 bored .060" over (402 ci)
4.11 x 3.78 bore/stroke
Edelbrock 1813 800 CFM Thunder Series AVS Carb
Edelbrock Performer RPM FE aluminum intake
Edelbrock Performer RPM FE aluminum heads
Comp 292 hydraulic cam (.560 lift/244 duration @.050")
Stock 390 rods reconditioned w/ARP bolts
MSD Pro Billet FE distributor
MSD 6A Ignition Module
MSD Blaster 2 Coil
Autolite spark plugs
MSD 8.5mm wires
Melling HV oil pump w/ARP driveshaft
Hooker Comp headers #6903
2.5" exhaust with x-pipe, side exit before rear wheels
Dove aluminum roller rocker assembly with
billet steel shafts & billet split stands

10.6:1 Compression
Rebuilt C-6 with shift kit

my poor boy way was i used good 3" long tube headers then 2 1/2 feet of 3" flex pipe and then 2-3/8" upset tubing (oil well production pipe) and ran er out the back she sounds wonderfully mean for a stock 360

lol i cheaped out too and got an x kit for summit for $89.00 2.5" then ran my imo flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers and tail pipes . whole deal like $120.00

I wish I had a 390..one of my favorite engines. I had a 360 in my 68 but it blew up..now I'm modifying a 300 cuz I like that engine too. My dream would be to have a 390 or a 400
