mating a 429 to a ZF

putting a 429 in dads 79 F350 4x4 super cab and he pulled a ZF that he wants to mate it to. he has a stack of fly wheels including a 429 mach 1 flywheel with 0 balance but he is concerned because it is a different diameter and tooth than the 460 flywheel that was with the ZF. what is the best route to go? have the weight cut off of the 180 tooth ZF and rebalance it to 0, or is there a cheaper, easier option?

Where did the 429 come from?

He pulled it from a large 68-69 car. He couldn't remember but it was an automatic so no flywheel. The only 0 balance flywheel he has for it is a different diameter and tooth count than the flywheel that came from the zf. Can't we just use the 0 balance mach1 flywheel and a matching starter?

If you can bolt on the right size pressure plate, that should work.

Umm
Rebalance the 460hd flywheel. The clutch on the zf is metric spacing and I think slightly larger. Way easier that way. A different diam flywheel won't work because starter location will be wrong.
Pilot shaft bushing in a 429 is smaller also. You'll need to try one from a 70-73 mustang to see if it fits in the end of crank. A 460 one won't fit.
