Radio question

Is my radio in a 00 F250 considered a double din? or is it a din and a half? Curious because kind of almost had an accident the other day, and my coke spilled on my factory one and now my 1,2,3 playlist buttons dont work. So thinking about upgrading to a touch screen and needed to know what size ours are considered.

Thanks.

Double din fits with minor trimming of the dash, lots of threads there. I went with a single din and the Skoal shelf.

A double din will fit but you will need to trim a small plastic lip off. No big deal.

Yep had the Skoal shelf in my Ranger and now in my SD

Was thinking about going with a bigger radio but now I am thinking I will just add a tablet.

Double-Din. Pioneer has reasonably-priced units, but avoid Jensen (my error).

Get a backup cam!!!! I had one until an Infinity threw itself on my stinger and wiped out my hitch (and totalled the car). I couldn't believe how much I miss that backup cam. I have a new one in the box, I just need a day off work to install it. The backup cam isn't just for lining up with a trailer: Diagonal parking on a street gives you a "spotter" in the back of the truck to see oncoming traffic. You can back up in tight spots without hitting things and look like a pro. You can check behind you for kids or their toys if you have such things. I use mine every time I back up.

The best cam I've found is the Boyo license-frame, just make sure you get the waterproof one. Avoid Pyle!

Make sure you get the unit with an SD reader. USB is quaint, but bulky. The SD card inserts and hides. I have a CD/DVD that will never see a disc. The SD holds waaaay more music/video than a disc can and there are no moving parts.

Bluetooth really helps for hands-free calls - make sure you get the remote mic.

I don't use sattelite radio or GPS in the dash. I have a separate GPS for the times I need it. GPS really drives up the price of these units and you are stuck with everything in one. You can buy the GPS alone cheaper than the deck add-on and you get better support for new/updated maps. If the deck craps out for any reason, there goes everything.

HD radio is cool... if you live in the city. I'm more rural and I get HD signal on one channel, if I turn my head just right and hold my sunglasses out the window.
