Computer diff between 99 and 01 F350
We have a 99 F350 with 7.3 and we replaced the engine with a 7.3 from a 01 F350. The problem is fuel mileage. We are getting 5 to 8 mpg empty on a 3+ hour drive. Good power, No smoke and it runs fine.
Are there any differences in the 99 and 01 computers that may cause this?
Other ideas?

Get yourself a '01 PCM. There are lots of difference between the two.
If you know someone that has an '01 truck, you could switch them out and see if that helps.

Ok I need your help again. It seems that the places that sell the PCM can't locate the right one from the engine code. There are 4 possible units for this year / engine with manual trans.
Does anyone know where to find the PCM number by engine code or have a 2001 f350 with this engine code that could give me a serial number or PCM number to get the right unit?
