A patch on the oil pan huh? Do you have a big hole or something?

Bone head move of the year I would say. Then it suddenly becomes perfectly clear as I slap myself upside the head with the nearest wrench. Then I pulled the washer out (which I had intentionally left in so I wouldn't screw up the threads on the crank). Had the balancer off in minutes. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Ahh, I hate when that happens. I've done similar stuff, sit there for an hour trying my damnedest to get something off or whatever, then I realize I left a bolt in or forgot to do something simple...

Bottom of it is rotted out I think so there probably a pin hole. I haven't seen what it looks like without a patch. I had bought it with one on it. All I've done was sanded and degrease the old one and then reapplied some JB Weld. Which held up real nice.

Bought the new transmission, I will have the swap done next monday. Less than $600 installed and filled with ATF, and I get my old trans back (they tell me they only use cores from the US which haven't been rebuilt ever). Quite a deal!.

They have a Dorman 31001 stud for $6 at Autozne.. I may grind/cut off the old stud.. drill out and then use that..

I have a Mig welder here to use.. Can I simply weld another 1/2" threaded bolt/rod onto that one (thats sticking out) & use a new nut.. and would that work?? I know the stresses are small on it as the POST itself does like 90% of the work.. and I don't plan to off road this..
