Thanks folks.. just dropped Angus off for 2 new front tires.. going with General Grabber AT/2 in standard size 31x10.5Rx15LT.. was quoted $160 each mounted and balanced.. considering most places want about $150-160 not mounted from on the web... after I pass NJ inspection I'll be doing 2 more for the rear.. then the shocks, stabilizer, radius arm bracket, etc..

Original tires are the Michelin XC LT4's... which are from at least 2006 (last inspection date).. and have slices in the sides.. and just old..

Delivered another load of firewood. Have new Moog inner tie rod to replace, and driverside caster/camber bushing is loose/worn? need to inspect closer. After fixing these going to install 2 new Dunlop MT 33x12.50 tires. I bought all 4 and spent almost $1000 on them.

Those look great! I always wanted to do the Grabbers with the Red Letters.

Thanks.. These are white lettering, the regular General Grabber are red lettering I think.. I turned my white lettering in on these and left the outside black..

I think next will be this passenger side radius arm bracket.. glad it has bolts and not rivets already..

The grabbers pictured are 31's if I read right. They look great either way.

Correct they are 31x10.5x15.. I was entertaining 32x11.5x15 but figured its not worth the extra $20-30 per tire..

Finished modifying the adapter plate for the A/C compressor, and the compressor is in it's new house now, lots of HNBR o-rings in place and I'm almost done. The engine belt was a 94" but now I think I'll need a 92" (with this the truck will be operational once again, given that the new plate/compressor pulley is properly aligned), I guess I'll find out tomorrow, oh, and then condenser I have won't fit... it's too long at 28", it requires something around 24" measured from the mounting holes in one side to the holes in the other. Also found out the idiots at the trans shop hooked a transmission cooler to my trans but disconnected the radiator cooler in the proccess, so there was basically no gain...

Picked up the flange that mounts to my steering box for the rag joint and a shifter boot at the wreckers. Cost me just over 12 bucks. Picked up a tank of gas for my wire feed as well. Just at a different spot.

I put 2 out of 3 quarts of oil in TGM today, along with some gas.

There was no oil touching the dipstick and the oil pressure was oddly low on startup so I dumped 2 quarts in. It isn't full yet but it's enough to have good pressure. I have a truck meet with a few other FTE members tomorrow and I have a custom PC being built that I need to go pickup so I had to get a bit more gas in the tank. I also took the truck off road into this little muddy area that has a lot of... Speed bumps? And I think I got the rear tires off the ground, or very close. It was pretty fun.

Started to pull the steering box and power steering pump. Pump is constantly noisy and steering gear is leaking again. I figured it was worth a shot trying the Lucas powering steering stop leak and conditioner. It stopped for a while, but is leaking just as bad now as when I towed it to my driveway! I'm not much for "mechanic-in-a-can" products, but Lucas makes some good stuff! I swore by them in my dump trucks! I'd like to get a Red Head steering gear but it's not in the budget!!

I planned to get a red head box for a while. I even emailed the company asking for a quote but all I got back was my email signed up for spam. Really leaves a bad taste in ones mouth.

MadMatt, check the link about Steering Boxes in my signature, I also added something new, I used grease on the inside with the last sector shaft seal I replaced, it worked wonders and I havent had SB leaks after that.
