I took my 6 year old out to help work on the Bronco. He sat in the cab and handed me tools and lock tight thru the trans tunnel opening as I was under the Bronco. I bolted on the transmission extension housing and transmission mount.

 

Pressure washed the entire powertrain so I could find the pesky oil dripping on the exhaust. Been daily driving it this week to see where it is coming from. Haven't found it yet. Since I parked the mustang, I forgot what a nice vehicle the bronco is to drive. Easy to park. Don't have to worry about the rough roads to avoid.

 

I started working on my Ruff Stuff rear shackle flip.

 

Not to mention the turning radius... My fox bodies on the past were the worst in any parking or u turn situation.

 

Mustang turns tight. Progressively tighter with liberal throttle application...

 

That is very true, not practical in a supermarket/mall parking lot though

 

Removed the np205 and resealed it since it was leaking.

that bitch weighs more than 130 lbs (no fluid) when youre under the truck.

got a few more things to do before i drive it. then will do the 8.8 disc swap on my 9 inch soon.

 

Waiting for a freaking TFI module... let's see if that fixes my truck's rough running.

 

NP205 still freaking leaking. looks like the shift rail seals are no good..plus the adapter to t case and trans leaking...even after all i did.

Im just going to carry it to a mechanics shop and let them do it. im tired of it..especially with no trans jack.

This was the first coat of Primer, took three before it looked good.
now the rest of the truck needs attention.

 

I put in the new fuel line from the tank to the engine. Also worked on the rear half of my wiring.

 

Hey all new to the Bronco world. I am the proud owner of a 1983 Bronco (named the old Red Donkey by the last owner) with the 5.8 in it that is completely original, down to the original am/fm cassette deck. I am not new to wrenching.
I come from a 2003 Ford F350 Deisel that when sold made a modest 700 hp and almost 1100 in the torque world. I loved it but I just didnt use it for anything more then something to get tickets in.

Today I replaced an ailing thermostat that was causing my bronco to run a bit on the hot side of the gauge. Why did ford put the dang thing on the front of the motor with all the hoses right there. I complain because not knowing I screwed up and let the thermostat drop a little when putting it in and didnt catch it until starting the Donkey and watching antifreeze pure onto the ground. Fixed it no leaks. Coming next tune up, and brakes.

Replaced the TFI/ICM, still the problem persist. As of now my truck is unusable.

 

What is it doing? could be an o2 sensor.
