1956 F600 build thread "Abby"
#76
Just in case anyone is looking I have my F600 short running boards for sale. As well as a set of F600 running board brackets (2) and a 272 fuel pump. Just trying to clean up a bit before moving, lol. It's in the for sale section here, but our parts don't show up too much there and I don't think anyone checks it all that often, lol.

1960 f600 patch panel
Hi guys,
I just picked up a 1960 f600 off of Craigslist. The body is in pretty good shape but it has rust through the passenger floor board and behind the cab on the passenger side. Drivers side is spotless! Looks like a pretty easy fix with patch panels though. The cab mount will also need to be replaced.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to find patch panels for this old truck?
Btw it has a rebuilt 361Fe with a Allison trans out of bus and the good old 2speed rear.
Any help would be great guys and I can post picture later
Thanks guys!

Stephen - a couple weeks ago I picked up a 57 F600 with thoughts of shortening up the wheel base because I thought it would look cool and so it would fit in my shed better. After buying it I started poking around FTE and was really excited when I came across your posts. My intentions are to basically leave the truck stock but have a shorter wheel base and a flat bed with a hoist. The body style between the 57 and your 56 are quite different but I'm guessing a lot of the mechanicals are the same. What are the biggest hurdles you have had to overcome to get to the point you are at (in other words - any mistakes I might learn from)? Thanks - and look forward to reading more about your project.

I agree. I love your threads and of course Abby too. I have taken my 59 f350 flare side to a car show and nobody even got off their a## to. Check it out. To the car show guys just some old work truck that needs a paint job.to me it is like building my thesis after 40 years of fixing and daily driving old ford trucks. While most of the hobby with trucks centers around the half tons,I have never dealt with them. Our philosophy on the trucks is very much the same.Keep it up brother, and don't forget to keep us posted. Good luck on the new living situation and hang in there. GB
