F450 2005 Reverse Light wire in harness in dash
I have a double din stereo install with a reverse camera. The stereo has a wire for attaching to the 'reverse light'. Which wire in the harnessing in the dash do I attach this wire to? I can't find a wiring diagram and the wires are unmarked in the console. This will power the camera when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Thanks.

Black/Pink wire coming out of the CJB C270g, under left hand side of dash is the reversing lamp signal. It goes multiple places, depending on the option content.
to rear lamps
to BJB fuse for relay trailer tow adapter
to PAM (if equipped)
to electrocromatic mirror (if equipped)

Hello
Thanks! But the only black/pink wire I found is hot all the time. This is an RV E450 V10. I installed a rear camera attached to the touch screen stereo. The wire from the back of the stereo needs a wire that will tell it to turn on the input cam when the vehicle 'reverse' is engaged. I tried finding CJB diagrams on-line but they require log-ins and money. Does anybody have a PDF of the CJB so that I can track down this wire? It's a 2006 Winnebago E450. Thanks.

Sigh... You said it was an F450, you didn't say it was an E450 RV/Motorhome chassis. The backup lamp circuits are quite different.
Because of possible differences among option content please provide the first 10 digits of your VIN along with the transmission (TR) code from the VC label, located on the driver's door.

This may be a little late but here goes...
The backup light circuit is like the old dome light circuits. There is power applied to the light and the ground side of the light is switched through the shift selector on automatics or through the reverse switch on a manual transmission. The black/pink wire goes to ground when in reverse.
You'll have to wire in a relay to "reverse" the signal. That means that the pull-in coil on the relay gets wired the same way as the light, with a hot feed coming through the ignition and the ground from the relay going to the same place as the backup light ground. Then you feed your backup light camera through the normally open contacts of the relay which make contact when the light turns on. The head unit should sense when there is a signal coming in on the AV line to display the video.
I just did this yesterday on my Escape to wire in an aftermarket backup system.
Of course, there may be the correct polarity at the park assist module but I didn't have a diagram for that.
Hope this helps.
