Did I do damage running my 7.3 with exhaust loose at TURBO??
New to me truck but about to go for a 300 trip after several 200 miles trips this week. Next week I hope to put a 1000 on the truck. Just noticed the other day that I could hear the turbo MUCH more just getting around town.
Well today looking the truck over before leaving I noticed that the big exhaust clamp that hold the exhaust pipe to the turbo was loose and so was the exhaust pipe. 4" exhaust aftermarket I assume and a bigger cherry bomb toward the back or truck. Same clamp thats around the rest of the truck 7/16 so I put it back into place and tighten it. Did I hurt the turbo or anything? It sounds better now anyway. Thanks

Great, I noticed that the turbo would glow a little the few times I looked at it and now understand how important it is to get the hot gases out of there so maybe I will be better fuel economy now? Grabbing for straws here. 14.2 on the hwy at 70mph. I will check it on this 300 mile trip. Ty

Very Quiet now and I checked the clamp midway and it was tight and quiet! I wish I could say the same about the left front hub grabbing. Thats another thread. Cant wait to get to the pump and see the MPG on this run. Another quest is to get 17MPG the same as my Gas Pig 5.4 I traded was getting. This truck is much more fun to.
Thanks. GG
