Thx for sharing pix & info Paw Don, LA & Mardi Gras is on my bucket list,
wish I was there
Since I moved away from the New Orleans area 10 yrs ago I haven't been to many parades other then the local ones. I've ridden on floats and even pulled floats with one of the trucks I had. Worth the trip to see this 10 day celebration!
Thanks!! We wanted to get away from the New Orleans area so we moved 65 miles SW and only 55 miles from the Gulf. Out in the country so its nice and quiet. We can be at the family fishing camp in Grand Isle in an hour so that's nice also.
hey is anyone here a natural gas fitter by trade,
I'm installed my own direct vent wall mounted heater in the garage & I was wondering if I do all the work then just get it inspected.....
yes I have a heated slab but I always like 2 heat sources

If you turn it on and it doesn't blow up.......yer good to go.
When I install something like that, I give it a cat scan. Cat looks it over and gives a paws up.
Seriously, follow the directions, check for leaks and make sure it's venting right. Thankfully, it's not rocket science. Otherwise the average contractor might struggle a bit. (No offense to the above average contractors who may be reading this!)
Don the way they have to build them down there is wild,
I've seen them before but I'm always amazed ......... nice setup
my wife says''you're not takin' me to no Mardi Gras'' so I guess I'm on my own, LOL
It's well worth seeing it at least once..these parades go on for about 10 days but the best parades are Endymion and Bacchus this weekend. Huge floats that end up going into the Superdome at the end. The camps are elevated to avoid flooding from the Gulf during hurricanes..they have to be a certain height to get insurance. Our camp has been hit twice and repaired in the last 15 yrs.
