Most of the state is still under Fire Restrictions. I wish the wildfire danger would go away. A butch of rain would help.
Got away yesterday afternoon for a horse ride. Did a loop around Cliff and several other lakes. All were about 10,000 foot. So it was nice and cool. 56-60° The only way you get to see these lakes if by hiking or riding horses. They are all in Wilderness boundaries, So no mechanical transportation.
Since I rode last night, I decided to go fishing today. Used to flyfish a lot. But then horses took over my life. I still ride into a remote lake/river and fish a couple times each summer. But I decided to leave the horses home today and just go hike in. Of course it rained on me and all my rain gear is in the horse trailer. So I got soaked. Temps were 54° and being wet, I had to call it quits early. But I caught a few Cuttthroats on some dry flies. It was worth getting out and clearing my head.
Leaves are turning fast. Fall is here. As dry as it has been in the west. I don't think we will have fall colors last very long.
As I pulled into the trailhead parking lot. A father came over to me and said. You just ruined my day. Startled I said, why. He said, My boys thought I had the best looking truck until you pulled in and parked.,

Good evening guys !
Jon, nice pics Yes your truck does look pretty tough.
Monty, we are having beautiful camping weather, 70 deg days and 50's overnight. Perfect !
Looks like we have a week of great weather on tap. We will need it, very muddy around Wisconsin and Iowa.
I did some preparation for winter today !
