Howdy crew!

Gerry, as much as I would like for her to be off more, she nor I ever miss scheduled work days unless we are on vacation, or dead. I hope not to jinx myself, but in the 21 years I've been at the refinery, I have never missed.

Monty, I completely agree!

Jim, happy birthday!

Swamp Don, we are snowed in, but it is all melted well before it hits the ground! We have gotten about 40" of "snow" over the last 30 days or so and it's snowing again right now.

Andre, it's a good thing you like people. I don't know that I could handle 5 college kids at my place for a couple of days.

Jon, the reasons for needing the aircraft dipping into the lake suck, but the process is fascinating.

Chad, try not to let the Marriott get you down!

Desert Don, having the kids running after you not wanting you to leave must've been tough. Safe travels, and enjoy the rest of the trip.

Roy, hopefully Theresa gets better quickly. Thankfully, UTI's are fairly easy to treat.

This is my last night of this set, then I'll be off tomorrow, attending medical training Wednesday and Thursday, then back on my regular day shift Friday through Sunday. I'm already tired and the schedule for the week isn't helping.

Have a great evening all.

No problem, it's not like i had a lot of free time to make local travel arrangements worth it, as I just got back to the hotel now. We ran late today which pushed back the free beer and German style buffet line.
MB moved the north American hq to Atlanta area, and are expanding operations slowly. May put me there for business more frequently going forward.

So the Dollar Ridge fire is now 45% contained and has burned over 54,000 acres.
A rancher I know in there got his cows out and shared some photos, most of the cows are OK, a few with burned feet and a lot of smoke inhalation. .
But now what to do with them ? They usually spend the summer until late October on the mountain.

My dad took me hunting up that canyon when I was just 6 years old. I've been every year since except a few when I was out of the area. Air Force etc.
So I have a lot of memories. I had found lots of Indian pictographs on the rocks. I knew where the elk and deer hid.
And even worse. With the mountain burned off, August thunderstorms willl flash flood that canyon and tear out any trail.

I've helped Henry many time push a few of his cows around that canyon. And yes I know the grass will come back next year. I'll just miss seeing green trees instead of the black skeletons. Never in my lifetime will I see that canyon as a mature forest again.
This is what the news doesn't show of the western wildfires

Good morning everyone! Made sure I got up early to get my morning walk done. Wait too long and it's too hot or too rainy. Made coffee and boiled some eggs and got the wife off to work. Now I can goof off a little!
