Ours starts Feb 5, so we are going on the 10th or 11th when my wife and I are both off.

I really don't use the brakes on that thing so I never really thought about it. As soon as you let off the throttle the clutches pretty much stop the thing and I only use it to plow snow and cut grass. Only thing I can think of is maybe the kids stand on the rear brake pedal when they ride it (which is not a lot)??? Anyway, piston and seal kit will be here today, will be fixed for plowing by the weekend.

Have a good day everyone!!

Looks like it was stuck and dragging, for many a mile. No biggie, that's why they sell parts.

That's a nasty looking set of brakes. Ick!

I flushed the brake fluid on my Ranger 900XP this weekend. I had to remove the tires/wheels to really get at the bleeder screw. That gave me the opportunity to swap the tires/wheels to the other side, kind of like a tire rotation. I'm not sure how necessary that is on an ATV but at least I can say that I did it.

The brake fluid looked brand new. Very clean and very little air in the lines. The manual says do a brake flush every two years. I inspected the brake pads while I was there and they look good. I have almost 800 miles on the ATV. I don't know what they looked like brand new but I'm guessing I can easily go one more year before replacing them.

Flushing/bleeding the fluid tightened up the brakes a bit which is always nice.

Could very well be. It's not a great set up if you ask me. 2 pistons in one, one comes from the front brake line and the other is on the rear brake pedal only. Any fluid leaking past the inner piston seal would go to the outer piston. So it is possible that outer piston got too "full" and applied pressure (I guess).

I would like to just cap off the one from the front but I will put it back together the way it was and maybe check on it a little more often.

Oh, here is our latest addition. A little gun to shoot .22LR and magnums.
In the middle of dealing with 2 new doctors visits, to find out I have a growth on my nose that has to be removed and tested, plus the right shoulder has to have a joint replacement(the socket is worn to one side and 50% range restriction) I did enjoy a few hours of quality time with the youngest and his wife doing some gun smoke thearapy. Fun to watch the daughter in law in one lane with my 45 and my wife in the next lane with my MP5. The son really liked my Uzi.

Minus temps are cold in my book..........

I was a good boy today.......
The youth pastor at church had a mal-functioning toilet and shower head problem.

All fixed...... Piece of cake. Was nice to take care of the problems.

Some people just don't know anything about maintenance.......

If the toilet was malfunctioning due to a piece of cake, someone needs to change up their diet and use smaller pieces of cake!
