Wazzup Truckers...?
Had a minute, figured I'd drop in a say hello. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and will have a great Christmas. As usual (here lately) I'm offshore, that's a good thing, I suppose. It's turned down right cold out here, ambient temps in the low 40's (I know Roy, summer day for you!..LOL) with a 50 Kt wind and raining. Hope it passes pretty soon, I'm not built for cold weather.

Y'all have a good one!

Not much new around here. Work is picking up a bit. If we could stay at the level we are at now for the next few years that would be good. Not likely in all or nothing Alberta tho.

I got the boy a Browning 1911-22. Pretty cool little gun. It's a 1911 but 85% size. It is perfect for him. I was not sure how it would operate but we have a couple hundred down the pipe without any issues. It runs great.

Have a good day everyone!!

Thanks Gavin!

The Rugers are really nice, I looked at them and came close to going that way.
But the mini 1911 was just too cool

There ya go!!!!! Start ‘em off right!! I don’t think I was much older than that when a cousin of mine, just out of the Marine Corps, stopped by with a Colt 1911 .45 ACP........yup......yours truly shot it, and fell in love with the thing right there!!!! I was probably 9 or 10 at the time!!! I have had 7 or8 of them over the years, and currently own two. One is a S&W 1911PD, alloy frame, Crimson Trace laser sight, 4 1/4 inch barrel, had some trigger work done on it.......it likes to run; the other is a “Loaded” Springfield, Stainless Steel, bushingless barrel, and the list goes on......it shoots right where you point it!!!
Good evening, rest of crew!! Hop;e all had a great day!!!

Howdy Gang!

Gerry, thanks!!

Darren, glad work is picking up finally. That's great news! I bought my son a Ruger when he was 12 and taught him responsibility and how to shoot it. As of a year or so ago, that was still the only gun he had. I offered him a trade. I get his Ruger and he gets the .38sp snubby that I had bought for my ex many years ago when she wasn't my ex. I now use his Ruger for shooting slithery critters and small furry critters around the house, and he carries the .38. Those little .22's are fun guns!

Don, I never got exposure to handguns until the military, but loved them once I did. Since then, I have made a point of training younger ones on pistols when they are interested and their parents are ok with it. I wish I had been exposed to them at a much younger age. I had been shooting small rifles from 10 on, and got my first 12 gauge pump for Christmas when I was 15.

Eric, that wasn't nice, but it sure was funny!

Howdy Gavin! I was wondering what the next big project is for you.

Have a great evening guys!

Darren, I love those mini 1911 from Browning. I have a 1911-380 that I occasionally carry. A whole lighter and smaller than a full size 1911. I bought mine when they first came out, But I see Browning has updated the gun and added some options. Like better sights. My older eyes struggle with the ALL BLack sights

I had left mine under the truck seat for a few months. Hadn't worried too much since it was in a pistol rug. But when I got it out to shoot, It stove piped about half of the rounds. Took it home and gave it a good cleaning and now it works just fine. So it must have collected enough dust to slow down the action. Note to self. Clean the gun on a more regular basis.

Browning's main office is just 15 minutes away, So I've always been a fan of Browning guns, I bought my gun, a Browning A-5 12 gauge shotgun when I turned 16 back in 1968, Cost me $216. I bought the Light Twelve model because at the time, I think I barely weighed 135 lbs and my dad didn't think I'd enjoy shooting Magnums. I can't even begin to tell you how many shotshells have gone through that gun, or how many ducks and pheasants it has brought home in the 50 years I've owned it.
