If you don't like the salads and grilled chicken subs that I eat at Subway, you really wouldn't like the bacon double cheeseburgers that I used to eat.

I think no matter what I told her, that women was going to tell me I was doing it all wrong. I'm sure glad I didn't marry one like that!

Good morning everyone. Wanted to say thanks for the reps from the promotion ceremony, I appreciate it.

Being around a bunch of Marines again made me feel proud, and also sad. Getting out after 12 years was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I loved the Corps, but know that the time spent with my family was worth it. It still hurts though. I was born to be a Marine for sure, and am honored to have served.

Andre, a Gunnery Sergeant was taking those pics for me. Love the photo bombed F350! ROR.

So far I have come to the conclusion.

Two Doctors, three opinions on what you should and should not do.

I expect on September 15th when I see the primary doctor they referred me to I will get a different opinion and different meds...

Not ready to throw the towel in on meat just yet... It wasn't a doctor's order, just a suggestion. Although I do want to go on a strict diet for a couple of months to lose some weight. If that involves no meat at all, so be it. It isn't a lifetime commitment to not eating meat.

I agree with you for the most part. Although Subway is known to use a LOT of sodium, which would give any cardiologist heartburn.

It doesn't help that I only go there for the meatball marina.

If it tastes good, it either has too much sodium or too much sugar.

I have learned that every doctor has medication brands that they prefer and when you change doctors, you will be changing medications! As for the meat, if you eat a small steak once a week, no big deal. Eat mostly fish, chicken and turkey. When I started making my dietary changes, I found there to be an abundance of things made with turkey that taste very good. I eat turkey breakfast sausage, turkey Italian sausage, turkey burgers and my favorite are the Perdue garlic/spinach chicken burgers. I still do my 2 shakes a day for now and try to eat a decent meal at dinner. One to two days a week I eat chicken fajitas for lunch. Cheat days are acceptable and will not hurt you as long as your are reasonable with your cheating. Don't cheat more than twice a week and don't make your cheat day a 5,000 calorie 350g carb 24oz steak day!

Sodium was her concern and I agree that their lunch meat is loaded with it, but the grilled chicken is a basically tasteless chunk of meat so I know it can't be too bad. Meatball marinara.......who doesn't love to chow down on one of those things? I stay away from that one at Subway. If I'm going to eat something that bad, it is going to be done right by somebody whose ancestors came her from Italy!
