Interesting. I wonder if they went to 18 inch wheels as standard size now.

I hope not. I like 17" wheels.

The fronts are only 14.29" my 2002 has 13 some odd inch brakes. I thought the change would have been much greater since they made 17" wheels standard in 2005 for larger brakes. The size must be in the caliper?

My '06 has the 13.66 brakes - of course they could always be larger - but one thing that increase will do is to make rebuilt calipers dear until supply catches up with the demand.

As far as wheel size, mine has 18" which will probably become the standard with 20's as the option. Tire too will become dearly priced as well - my 18's were over $200 each then another $20-$22 each for mount and balance which about leaves enough out of $1000 to take the little lady out for a night out - meal and a movie (McDonalds and a matinee, of course)
