I love my 2011 Coyote

This truck is truly amazing. Even with the 3:55 rear end, it hauls like a freight train. The Coyote engine is the best sounding stock V8 I have ever heard. The sync system blows like a Nor'easter, but I can live with that. Just a really impressive pickup.

Glad to hear
You are lucky to have the 3.55 for some reason I have 3.31 in my 2013. I am seriously considering swapping to a 3.73 & installing a Posi-Trac !!
If I had the 3.55 gear, I'd be content & would leave it alone.... Want to swap rear-ends

I will absolutely agree the 5.0 sounds amazing with the right exhaust system (F150 or Mustang) & I happen to have a Dual Stainless System from LEGATO that I just can't say enough good things about

Here's a Link to my Build Thread reference my Exhaust :

It took me 2 vehicles with Sync to realize it's garbage. Get the base stereo, buy a Pioneer AVH-NEX, profit with Google Maps navigation and Google voice recognition!

And I agree. I've owned several pickups from the big 3 and this is the best I've owned by a large margin.

I'll look into that. Do you have to pay a subscription for the Google maps?

I too,, have the 5.0 with a 3.55 electronic lock rear axle. I really like mine.
Sync leaves a lot to be desired. The map updates are expensive. I am not going to pay thousands for a replacement GPS and stereo.

Another 5.0, 3.55 E-locker truck here. Solid combo.

As far as sync, I don't seem to have as many issues as some. I have sync basic and use it for calls, and stream music over bluetooth. I also have a USB drive with my music library on it. I dumped everything in the Root drive and it can still pick out artists and genres for a completely unorganized mess. Fairly happy with that. Additionally, the recent sync update now pushes the song name over bluetooth which is nice to have.

No, but you do need an Android phone so you can run Android Auto.

It's not thousands. You can pick up a new Pioneer AVH-4200NEX for $460.

Yup, 5.0L/3.55 and truck is very much traction limited, even with an Eaton Posi and big(ger) tires.

Only complaint is that she's a bit of an oil user.

Yeah I just cut the resonator and trash can sized muffler off mine and put a Magnaflow muffler on mine. Now it sounds so good I could listen to it all day long. Holy smoke.

The aftermarket stereo prices aren't too bad. But, it's the faceplate/dash kit that is another $300 (I have one) and any harnesses/adapters that can run another $70 each, to keep Sync, Steering wheel controls, etc. Bought them too.

I've lucked out with my 2011 that I had, and my 2013 I drive now. Each with the Coyote, and never low on oil when the service is due.

I'm with you there too. We lost the resonator, and added a Flowmaster 70 series, one in, two out. And after the muffler had a few hundred miles on it, it sounds even better.

Unk Bob
