AZPartsLocators is starting off with a positive reputation.
The mirrors are looking really good! Hard to tell from the pictures but is the glass really good? I recently took a pair of mirrors to a local glass shop and they only charged me $15 each installed for brand new glass. Just a thought since you are doing all of that work!

The rust around the edges of the glass won't clean off. There's also places where water has affected the silvering. So, I was planning on getting new mirrors cut.

I did throw a tape measure across the glass and it is more like 6" x 9" than 5" x 8" so I'm wondering if these were Ford mirrors? They have no logo on them that I could find.

Planning on going later today to get some USC All Metal to fill the voids. Anyone use that filler before? I've heard good things.

The bottom edges of the right and left outside mirror housings. There's some pinholing along that bottom edge where water must have collected at times.

My friend's '66 250 4x4 lists "LH Stowage" as a dealer installed item on his invoice. Do you suppose that is the lock box in the lower part of the bed in front of the wheelwell? I'm fairly certain he must have had it removed at some point as I don't think it is there anymore, but I can vaguely recall it being on his truck back in the day.

EDIT: Talked to my friend and he thinks the "LH Stowage" was the map pocket in the drivers door.

Hey schoo pinhole is just a slang term used for rusting in very small spots. Pinhole rust out.

I got the mirrors disassembled further and experimented with the USC All Metal. Seems like it will work. Haven't had a chance to apply it to the mirrors yet, but I mixed up a small batch to see how it reacted, hardening time, workability, etc.

I had a very nice visit from our very own CS65 on Saturday. Good to meet you. He brought along some very cool literature of the 65-66 truck lines. I can't speak for him but I think I did hear him utter things like "That brings back memories" and "I've seen worse". He agreed it looks more like a fairly gently used 135,000 mile truck than a 35,000 mile truck.

I need a few bits and pieces but can't post in the classifieds until I have at least 25 posts. Bummer.

I do have a leaking front pinion seal so I bought one of those and a cover gasket yesterday at Napa in prep for that swap.

You don't need to post wanted ads for parts in the classified section, just ask for them here.

If you are selling parts, then you have to use the classified section.
