Nice piece of venison there!!

It's lucky to get a second, third, and forth try!! I'll admit...I've never shot a muzzle loader before. Usually out here, the deer have become pretty wary. If you get a shot it's going to be a long one. I say they'r wary, but that's only in areas where it is OK to shoot. Around home, the blacktails are like rodents that eat plants, gardens, and fruit trees.

Hi, I just found this thread and am logging in to follow it. I too have a '49 F1. Just starting it though, having pulled the cab, motor (flat 6) running gear and axles this past week. Your work looks really good!

When i said i missed three times before i meant that i missed three separate deer haha. But yeah if i had gotten four shots at one deer with a muzzle loader, i would be pretty dang lucky haha. Its definitely different with a flintlock. You really give the deer a sporting chance.

Well today was a snow day so i decided to go down to the shop and work on my truck while my driveway was still passable.

The roads were really bad but luckily the shop is less than a mile down the road. My driveway is much more treacherous, as it is close to a mile long and pretty steep at parts. But anyway, my passenger side front cab corner and rocker is pretty much done! next thing im gonna do is move over to the driver side front cab corner and rocker. Have to buy a few more spot weld cutters though. Man those things break easy!

Got some more work done. I redid my shift linkage. I used two pieces of flat stock and two bronze flange bushings. Its alot smoother than my other design. I might also add a few cross pieces to stiffen it up, but it shifts pretty well as is. It has pretty short throws too.

I also finished up my transmission tunnel. I was planning on bracing the tunnel under the seat, but with the front piece bolted down, it really stiffened up the floor. I also sat in the seat for a few minutes, shifted gears and turned the wheel a bit. Its fun to pretend to drive it!

After some problem with my order, i finally got the connecting rods i ordered way back on cyber monday. They ended giving me a better set of rods at the price i paid for the other set.
