I remain skeptical also. Water formed by condensation is formed in droplets over a lot of time. I just don't think a truck could form enough to overwhelm the filter. I live in a very humid climate and I have never done anything special as far as filling the tank. Granted it's inside but my truck sits probably more than most as I don't drive it between RV trips except once in a while to keep the juices flowing. I drain the filter religiously on the 1st of every month. In the three years I've had it I've found one small drop of water. I think it much more likely that someone got some bad fuel and it was blamed on the tank.
I also take a sample of every fill up before pumping more than two gallons. I might still miss some bad fuel but I doubt it. More likely if it's contaminated I will see signs in my sample. It only takes a minute or so and provides an extra level of protection. Cause I know if I blow the fuel system I will have to pay for it. That's a check it would hurt to write.
