1980 F150 with 16" rims????

Was looking on the internet for tires, and came across an add for 235/85R16 tires.....witch are installed on 1980 F150 5 bolt rims!!!!???

Pics confirm that to! Were these some kind of special edition or something? 4x4 only for 1980??

No 16" rims were installed from the factory on F-100 or F-150's in the USA at least.

Source Light truck service specifications: FPS-365-322-81

If they are standard ford 5 lug rims, then either the tires and rims are mismatched. Dangerous! Or the rims are out of country, or aftermarket.

I ran across an 80 in the jy the other day with the same setup, 235/85's on very oe looking bottom of the line type wheels. I didn't check the door tag but, I doubt they were OE, per the brochures Ford didn't use 16's from the factory on anything in 80.

The tires were on the rims, the rims are just regular old steely rims, with 5 lugs...

Those wheels are mismatched, but definately look Ford.

F-series has used the same bolt pattern since 1948-1996.

Two of them are for the 1967-1996 style dog dish hubcaps with the outer holding ring, but they are from different years. (Look at the four slots where the wheels are welded together). The one that you can barely see on the right looks like it is for a 1948-1966 style dog dish hubcaps with the inner holding ring, but could be mistaken.

I'd inquire in the 1967-1972 forum, and the 1966 older forums about them being for an older half ton truck.
