My new college rig.

Well, blew up the poor ol' Ranger about 3 months back, and today, I just picked this up!

96 Bronco XLT 351 auto with lockout hubs! Almost 256k miles on the odo but doesn't burn a drop of oil! Needs a power steering line, tailgate, and back window. Paid $900 for it. I figure this coming winter is gonna be brutal and I'll charge people to pull them outta the ditch!

900, thats pretty awesome. I see there is some rust and paint issues, but overall looks really good, especially for 900! How's the interior? Man I wish I could come across a Bronco for 900.. I would love to have two! That way I wouldn't be so scared to take one off road so often. I baby mine a little too much but it does see some trails every so often!

lol im going to make u jealous, but i paid 800 for mine that only needed a throttle body (old one was sticking) and spark plug wires, and my dad only paid 700 for his 92 with a 5.8 that needed nothing and is virtually rust free minus the tailgate..

on another note, that bronco looks nice, lets see some more photos!!

Nice Bronco for only $900. You came to the right place when it comes to info on your truck. Welcome, and enjoy your stay.

Yes ya did good Bud. Kill the rust with some Ospho than touch it up with some hi build primer and few cans of spray paint. Fix the other little stuff and drive the wheels of her.

What size tires on her now. New wheels and 33's would dress her up nice. The 33's fit on mine without any lift and I got a set of 31X10.5 snow tires I run in the winter.

Have fun with her

Haha jeez! ...That does make me pretty jealous.. if I could find one that cheap, especially in semi-running condition, I would take it right away so I could have two! I paid 5k for mine, but it just had a 4" rancho lift with new 33" tires and a new transmission. No problems whatsoever, and it is manual which was a huge plus. But under 1k is a steal.

Yeah I honestly never thought I'd find a manual Bronco when I was looking, but I found the one I have now on autotrader. Went to go pick it up the same day it was listed so I got really lucky. The thing is, I don't know if they had a factory option for a 5 speed with the 351 in it. However, if I had to choose, I would definitely pick 5 speed 302 than auto 351. But someday I may drop in a 351 if my engine ever wears out. Hopefully that won't happen anytime soon though.

Justforkicks, do you have any plans for your Bronco? Or are you going to keep it how it is for now?

If I recall right Nighteyez would make every single one of you very jealous. BTW, did I mention I got this truck from free? It's been in the family since new, but I got it in 1998, when I graduated from High School.

Yeah, I was not going to mention it, but I got mine for free, from a fellow FTE member. Works great, AC works (which I am loving right about now), cruise control works. Does have its problems, but they are minor (except the rear main seal issue) mostly all the electric window lifts need work, and there is an electrical gremlin in there that cause the cruise control to stop working when I turn the headlights on. LOL

Haha thanks guys. I plan to just level it out, fix the rust, fix the issues it has, and put some pizza cutter tires on it for winter. As for interior, needs a cleaning but damn near mint. Tub is rock solid. Its got 32x11.50s on it right now, biut i"m sellin em to a guy i work with. Quick question regarding the e4od, i have a late (3000 rpm) 1-2shift and its harsh. I babied it driving home but the shift bothered me. Whats causing it?

Well, progress!

Neighbor girl priming.

First fiberglassing! Came out OK.

Also got the power steering line changed and took 'er out for a flogging. Roasts the tires and had a pretty decent 0-60! Transmission all of a sudden stopped doing the rough shift, too.
