Slow to warm up?

I tried a search and found nothing, so let me ask...

I have a 2012, 5.0 and the gauge takes a long time to come up to operating temp, almost like there's no t-stat in there. (I'm sure there is) I'll get some heat out of the vents pretty quick, but man, it seems like halfway home before the gauge reads just below halfway....is everyone else like that?

53 views, and nothing? Okay. I guess it's normal.

Maybe the thermostat is not closing completely?

I had one act that way, and the only way I was able to tell was driving down a long mountain road in the winter time. I was coasting most of the time so there was no significant load on the engine, and the heater never got warm. I can't do the same test in the summer, especially not now.

Yeah, I'll have to check it when the weather starts cooling down...If it cools down.
