514 build

I found a 514 that is brand new, balanced rotating assembly, H beam rods, new d3 heads racing flex plate, and it is an assembled rotating assembly in the block with flat top pistons, whole match for $1200 Is this worth building, It looks like all the stuff is there but a cam and rockers and pushrods. I would like some input on this to see if it is worth building. It seemed like a good price to me, It is all there and I have seen it, so it is a lagitimate deal. Thanks for now.

Offer them $800 and see. It might be worth that but you got to figure you are /should go through it & who knows what you might find. Unless they are friends of yours and you have knowledge of the engine I wouldn't take a strangers word for anything. At the least it's going to cost a rering kit. If you do buy it ask them if they have the balance card they would have got with the balance job. If you ever have any bottom end problems it would be nice to have that.

thanks mark. I trust the source of the engine It has no balance card though. I have the machinist name that built it. I think I might be able to get it for $1000, but The guy already came down from $2000. It looks like a D9 block and a set of D3 heads but the heads arent cut for studs but they are rebuilt with 2.19 intakes, No porting. I have a good set of d3s that are cut for studs and guide plates and also ported out and milled. The heads with the 514 aren't cut but I might sell them and build something out of that 514 with my heads and some .600 lift valve springs.
