how can i tell if i have a dana 50 or 60 front axle? ive got a 2002 f250 5.4. i need to replace the pinion bearings but im not sure what i have. do i need to take it to a dealer to find out?

You should have the d50 if its the original axel. Look at the axel tag and call the dealer to make sure.
2002 was the switch over to the D60. You SHOULD have a Dana 60, but there were a few D50s left over that made their way into 2002's. There is a front axle tag that should tell you.
