The money you are going to spend on a valve job would be better suited to save for new heads. They are going to have to machine the valve seats, back cut the valves, then they are going to want to add in new seals, guides, valve springs, retainers, etc. You are 1/2 way to a set of heads.
Figure $1000.00 for a set of Edelbrock RPM's. You will see around a 2-3 mpg improvement and around 75-100hp.
Heads or valve job won't do anything negative to the rings. Aluminum heads will actually reduce the pressure on the rings.

Yeah I have my plug and play kit that I had in my last truck just now getting around to putting it in this truck.

Its a plug and play unit Tim. I have a home kit and a vehicle kit. Took it out of my last truck and just never put it into the new one. Finally getting around to it. Finally got tired of dusting off the vehicle kit.
