Hidden Gun Safe

Hidden Gun Safe
So I came across the idea of building a hidden gun safe under the rear bench seat of my '96 F150 Supercab and was wondering what the legality behind something like this? I am getting my conceal and carry license soon and only planning to use it to carry firearms, not as a permanent storage. I may store a handgun in there at some point but thats the extent of it.
My plans were to use steel diamond plate as the casing and incorporate tabs underneath the seat that would have pins to lock into them and use the seat as the lid. The pins would probably be electrical or pneumatic activated from a hidden lock or button. I would like this to be the full width of the truck cab so I can store anything from shotguns, rifles, handguns, ammo, etc.
Can anyone give me an idea of the legal issues around a build like this?

Are you in Madras, Oregon? I just moved from Oregon. As long as the long guns aren't loaded then you're OK. After you get your CCP the handguns can be loaded. And you can keep ammo with the guns. You don't even have to have the guns locked in the truck but, I never did like driving around with my truck full of guns with the only thing keeping them secure was some tempered glass.
