Emissions in Missouri?

Can a DPF deleted and tuned truck pass emissions
in MO? I'm coming from a catalytic convertorLESS C6 Corvette that was tuned. The tuning involved deleting the rear O2 sensors from the computer so it would not throw a check engine light. Never had any issues passing emissions.

My first question is (if anyone knows) does Missouri treat diesel motors the same way? I assume they probably do, but do not know.

With a DPF delete on the 6.7 psd and a tune, will the computer throw a check engine light? If not, I'm thinking it will pass emissions in MO.

Please let me know if any of you live in MO and if my thoughts are correct.

Thanks,
JD

A few members here using H&S tuning can configure it where there won't be a CEL.
There are a number of topics and posts on that subject.
Depending on what you remove will depend on what tune programming you use.

The only way they would know is looking where the DPF should be and the fact your truck will blow black smoke.

Now, this is coming from a guy with a stock truck so wait for Andrew or Darren (and a few others).
If you are tuned and floor it while smiling, I'm told it causes smiles and that may stick.
If they see you can't stop smiling, they'll know.
(I'm just being goofy on this last part.)

I think I May be good bc I have a buddy that owns a shop. If there's a CEL though, there is no passing it bc it links straight to the state's computer system. But if no CEL, it could have flames shooting out the pipes and my buddy would pass me. Pretty sure the CEL is the main obstical... I HOPE!

I know for sure this isn't the place to ask.

Try this:

Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program

Is anywhere on this forum the place to ask? My apologies if there is.

You are missing the point. This is not a state DMV or law site. The links I gave you tell you what you need to know. If it is still unclear, contact the state.

How are you going to explain to the examiner that you removed a piece of equipment based on what you read on Ford Truck Enthusiasts? Think you'll get a pass?

Many people ask these questions here, and the most common answers are:

--"In (name of other state) we just put ground chickens in the gas tank and pass every time"

--"California sucks"

--"that's why I drive an old truck (not because I'm a dropout poverty case, but to avoid emissions...)"

So go to the source. You'll be happy you did.

Actually, yes (on getting the pass), I'll assume you didn't not read my previous post? I know the shop owner... For gas motors atleast, it just depends what the computer reads, if there's no CEL, you're good to good I'm fairly certain.

What is your GVWR? Over 8500lbs, you are exempt anyway.

Easy.......tampering or defeating emission controls is federal. Doesn't matter what state you're in. Legally, anyone that passes it is breaking the law. The risk is mostly on the inspector.
