Here's what I did when I had mine reflashed: Click Here!
It worked fine. Mine was with a known healthy PCM, though. I had it reflashed automatic to manual programming. I don't know how that would work with a potentially damaged PCM. Maybe try email instead of telephone...

Just posted this in another thread: (I have gotten a couple of PCM's this way) always get the most current model.
Try car-part.com, they will call it an "Engine Computer", then you need to know Auto or Manual trans, Low (Cali) or Standard (Fed) Emission, and the part # is very helpful. Did a search for MT, std emis (Fed), ID F7TF-12A650-SB and found a 1997 F350 5sp 4X4 for $85 out of Ohio. Hope this helps.
