I have a Flowmaster 40 series and like the tone from it! A little bit of drone around 1300ish or so but it don't bother me much.

I'm totally going straight pipe from the cat back!!!!

I have no idea what muffler I'm running right now but it is rectangle and long, pretty ugly and looks home welded by someone worse at welding than I am, but it broke (no surprise). The whole outlet end just ripped off while driving down the interstate. I was driving along and all of a sudden I it got louder. Pulled over and the front section of the tail pipe was nearly dragging with the tailpipe outlet up against the body. Weird part was my next tank of gas was my best mpg's ever. 14.2 over a 200mile round trip unloaded at 75+ mph. Before that i had never been over 12.6 mpgs. I didnt realize my exhaust was holding that much backpressure to have the big of a fuel mileage increase. I've been driving it like that for a couple months now because I dont want to risk loosing my increased mpg's .

I love the sound of it when you are out of the truck but inside you don't hear it. The only thing though is I can't find anybody whom sells it anymore. The last owner put ours on.

You can not find check out this site ! I know one page it says 1999 to 2011 and then next one says 2005 to 2011. I would call them up ask whats up for your year.

Also I found this maybe get this without the CAI it lists your year.,

If you're towing heavy, the FM 70 or BB50 are still bearable in the racket and drone department... And that's about it. After that, it boils down to what you can stand.
Straight pipes? WHAT? DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?

im not sure of the pickups sound differently but my excursion is suprisingly very quite with no muffler. you can have a conversation with people in the back at any speed/rpm.

roll the windows down its a whole different story!

There is the one the Stinger edition I just think the last owner didn't put in th intake part only the exausht because our intake is an Airaid. Everything it says it does is true trust me. If I were the OP I would get this. Thanks V10Zilla for finding this information for me.

Can anyone tell me what size of pipe I need to buy to straight pipe the muffler. I live on an island so running back and forth to the parts store is awkward. Wanting to cut the muffler out, sleeve in a piece of pipe, then drive onto the mainland to have it welded up. Is it 3" id, od, less? more? TIA

You'll need a pair of 3" couplers and buy yourself a 4' chunk of 3" pipe. Cut the cat out and measure how much pipe you'll need including the portion that goes into the coupler. tighten it up with 3" exhaust clamps and enjoy
