Chris I love the story behind the truck and I am sure your grandpa is looking down at you from heaven with a smile on his face.

Where did you get the floor pans from??

Update 12 07 12

Thanks for the compliments. I have been slacking on my build lately, but have watching everybody else here on FTE.

Going to work on the truck tomorrow. I have been tinkering with the brakes and right now the brakes are 90% complete. I just need to work through attachment of the rear brake lines. The existing block (block between the hard line and soft line?) needs to be attached to something. Right now the blocks are just hanging from the brake line. I'm trying to decide if I want to put fluid in the system yet?

See block:

I read more on mc/prop valve and noticed I had the lines backwards . Fixed now though.

I have the motor pulled out and have painted it. I am going to put the motor/tranny back together and put back in the frame. Then take the frame to town next week and get a drive line made.

On the floor pan, I bought the set from Ebay. I was impressed with the quality of this set. The only thing I didn't like was the transmission tunnel. It did look quite like the factory one. With a 302/C4 it isn't that critical though.

I'll get some more completed and post some more pics soon.....

Just saw this tonight. Looks great for as many years as it sat outside. That's what they mean when they say "Built FORD Tough"!!! Looking good to date. Waiting to see the finished project. Looks like another Alan here in Misery.

I also installed a new oil pump while I had the oil pan off. For now, I am going to drive the motor the way it was when I bought it a year ago. The cylinders walls seemed to be in great shape.

Still deciding if I should get the transmission rebuilt while I have it out. It seemed weak last year driving it around in the maverick.

Thanks for the update. You may not be happy with it but I am still impressed at the pace of your rebuild. That truck is going to be a nice one.

Cab corners

Got a little more completed with cab corners. Had to cut the corners in half to make them fit right. For my first try, didn't think they turned out to bad:

After:

After:

The ridge was a little wider on the corners I bought. But the bed will cover, so not that big of a deal.

Wow, things are looking good here. I just jumped over to check out your project after replying back in the sold Marine1200 thread. Your project looks like it is moving along well. I like the brakes and suspension work. Keep it coming.

Thanks... Will keep adding pics as I complete things. It is your turn to show some pics as well.

Here's how I upload my pics:

This works really easy....

Front end mock up

Put the front partially together to see how radiator would fit. What do you guys think?

foot feed

I'm trying to decide if I want to use the original foot feed, or use the one that came off the maverick. I like the look of the original, but my foot would have to sit on the tunnel. If I use the maverick foot feed, I would then cut and re-weld the brake petal where it sits toward the column more:

What would you guys use?

I'd use the original just because...
