So long story short, I think I'm being scammed by a body shop. I bumped my friend's 2012 camaro into some guy's 2003 F250. Front right chevy fender vs front right ford fender. It was at idling speed, no accelerator, low slow impact. I was in the passenger seat starting the car for my friend, was too drunk to realize it was in gear, started the car and it rolled into his pickup right in front of me. I took fault for everything and the ford driver was very cool about it all and held his composure after we went and got him to explain what happened.
Either way, we asked him to give us a quote for the repair so we can avoid my friends insurance as I would feel terrible having him take the fall for me here. He agreed and has provided me with a quote from a shop he says he doesn't know. I told the Ford driver whats right is right and I want his truck fixed the way it should be if it were my truck, and this is a true fact about how I feel as I've been the recipient of car accidents left holding the bag many times.
To describe the truck, I don't remember much but it had a chrome bumper. Thats about it. I can't explain the design of the headlight but I remember what it looks like. The quote description provides this:
2003 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL 4 DR Crew Cab Long Bed
10cyl Gasoline 6.8
4 Speed Automatic 1FTNW20SX3EB98661
Here is a partial parts list:

2 E 52 Panel,Front Valance 3C3Z17626AAA $58.64 +35.00 0.4 SM

4 L 271 13 Panel front Valance Refinish 2.0 RF
5 E 37 Filler,Front Bumper RT F81Z17A861AA 358.68 +3500 INC SM
What I don't understand, is why there are two Front Valance parts. I looked up both of them and they appear to be the same part however one of them is for a Harley Davidson edition. Now, I don't know for sure, but do Harley Davidson F250's come with a chrome bumper? This truck seemed pretty average at the least. I would have felt even worse if it was a nice truck knowing it would be expensive, but it was actually just okay...
Then there are more parts:

Can someone please chime in here, as I'm about to call the VIN into the dealer and see if it came with Harley Davidson or not. I don't mind paying the guy to get it fixed, but I just don't like to waste money. Thanks for your time.
Can someone at least tell me if a truck of this year came with harley davidson option or not? And do ANY Harley Davidson edition trucks come with a chrome front bumper? This would seem like an easy question to answer for someone in the ford world... At least I would hope so.
He chose a shop, it doesn't sound like it would be to much to ask of him to go ti a shop you choose for a second quote then compare the two. If he has a problem with it then it might be a scam but if he doesn't then either the first quote is legit or he's got a lot of friends in that industry.
I think breckman has some sound advice. I normally would get at least 2 quotes even on my own vehicle so I don't think getting another quote is unreasonable. I admire you for wanting to do the right thing with this guy. Seems your buddy should be on the hook for some of this. If he was that drunk he had no business getting behind the wheel in the first place. Unless he was crawling in to sleep it off and had no intention of going anywhere then this was a blessing in disguise. No telling how the alternative might have turned out and how expensive that would have been.
Wow, if it did that much damage to an F250, I can only imagine how bad the Camaro looks. Why did the car start while in gear? 2012's won't do that unless the clutch is disengaged (assuming it is a standard trans, autos won't start unless in park).
