Gotts Mod Review
Hey guys,
Just bought myself a 2010 FX2 SCrew with the 3v 4.6 a couple weeks ago. Love it so far and getting fantastic mileage. Since I've owned the vehicle I have been getting 22.4mpg avg for city and highway driving. Heard about the gotts mod and wanted to give it a try to see if it would improve mileage any...
Did the mod, including battery disconnect it was quite simple. However, for the 200-300km I drove without the snorkel, the dash computer was reading 9mpg and something wasn't right. I have a feeling it messed with the maf sensor and I was getting strange readings. So I went back to stock and back to getting 21-22mpg mixed driving.
Just wanted to share with everyone. My suggestion is just stay stock. I'm so used to my ol' '92 and constantly finding little projects to mod, but I need to get through my stubborn head that these new trucks are great from the factory.

surprised that made any difference in anything except for the noise the engine makes.
i did this to my explorer (and here i thought i came up with the idea
) and it didn't do much of anything except made the engine a little louder under acceleration.
